Gastrointestinal Diseases Metabolomics Service
Gastrointestinal diseases are influenced by genetic, immune and environmental factors, among which poor diet and lifestyle habits are the main causes of their development. Gastrointestinal disorders are difficult to treat because of their long duration, recurrence and persistence. Most gastrointestinal diseases are environmental exposure diseases, in which organisms ingest exogenous substances through diet, which after transformation and absorption affect the metabolism of endogenous substances. Metabolomics can directly reflect the effects of diet and environment on the organism. Metabolomics can reveal the essence of the metabolic activities of life, and study the disease mechanism from the specific results of disease production, and thus open up new ideas for the study of disease mechanism and treatment.
Gastrointestinal disorders may result in varying degrees of changes in gut microbial species and abundance. Imbalance of intestinal microorganisms increases the permeability of the gut, which releases bacterial products inducing inflammation and causing metabolic disturbances in the host. This process is mainly mediated by intestinal microbial metabolites (e.g., bile acids (BA), short-chain fatty acids (SCFA), amino acids, fatty acids, etc.).
Creative Proteomics provides metabolomics solutions for gastrointestinal diseases. We perform accurate detection and analysis of intestinal flora reference and host metabolites to find differences and changes in the metabolome of intestinal microorganisms, providing data support for research on disease development mechanisms, screening of new biomarkers for early disease prediction, diagnosis and typing, and new drug development.
