Lectins is a non-enzymatic protein derived from a non-immune source that can agglutinate cells and precipitate monosaccharide or polysaccharide complexes. Because of its ability to specifically bind to monosaccharides or sugar complexes, it plays an important role in many signal processes such as signal transduction, immune response, and plant defense. At the same time, plant lectins have a variety of abilities such as cell agglutination, antiviral, antifungal, and inducing apoptosis or autophagy, so it has good research value and application prospects in life sciences, medicine and agriculture. It named after the plant from which it is extracted, such as conconvalina (ConA), wheat germ agglutinin (WGA), peanut agglutinin (PNA) and soybean agglutinin (SBA), etc.
Lectins participates in the defense response of plants. It is stable in the higher pH range, resistant to heat, animal and insect proteases, and can function as a defensive protein when plants are harmed.
Lectins exist in the storage organs of plants and can also be used as a source of nitrogen.
MS-based technical means can realize the qualitative and quantitative analysis of lectins.

Technical Route of Targeted Metabolomics of Lectins
- Qualitatively accurate
Based on the standard product development material, the secondary spectrum of the sample material and the secondary spectrum of the standard product are checked one by one.
- Quantitative accuracy
Choose the optimal ion pair to ensure accurate quantification of the substance.
- High sensitivity
Based on an advanced mass spectrometry platform, the sensitivity can reach PG level.
- Strict quality control
(1) Blank: Remove residual impurities in the instrument, provide a stable detection environment, and also monitor the stability of the instrument.
(2) Mixed standard: Mixed standard mainly monitors the stability of the instrument.
(3) Random sample repetition: monitor the stability of the entire extraction process.
Creative Proteomics offers several approaches to plant metabolomics studies, delivers precise and detailed data and analysis report.
