About 3-indolebutyric Acid

3-Indole butyric acid is a broad-spectrum indole plant growth regulator, which can induce the formation of root plasmodium, promote cell differentiation and division, is conducive to the formation of new roots and the differentiation of the vascular bundle system, and promotes the formation of adventitious roots of cuttings.

3-Indolebutyric acid is often used for root-soaking transplanting of woody plants/herbs to accelerate root growth and increase the percentage of plant roots.

3-Indolebutyric acid can also be used for soaking and dressing plant seeds, which can increase the germination rate and survival rate.

It is widely used in cutting and rooting of trees and flowers, such as apple, peach, pear, citrus, grape, kiwi, strawberry, poinsettia, dianthus, chrysanthemum, rose, magnolia, rhododendron, tea, metasequoia, poplar, etc.

Molecular formula of 3-indolebutyric acid is C12H13NO2, and CAS accession number is 133-32-4.

MS-based technical means can realize the qualitative and quantitative analysis of 3-indolebutyric acid.

Sample Requirements

  • Plant samples ≥ 3 replicates / group
  • It is recommended to prepare more than 1g fresh weight/sample, store at -80°C, and transport on dry ice to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
  • When collecting, please wash the surface sediment with pre-cooled PBS buffer, and absorb excess water with filter paper to avoid freezing during freezing.
  • Samples soaked in the fixative cannot be tested.
