Catalpol, an iridoid compound, is one of the most abundant bioactive components in Rehmannia glutinosa. It has a wide range of pharmacological activities, including anti-cerebral ischemia injury, anti-senile dementia, anti-inflammatory, inhibiting capillary permeability, analgesic, anti-tumor, laxative, hypoglycemic, liver protection and anti-aging and other pharmacological effects.
Catalpol research covers many aspects, and the cell models involved include PC12 cells, endothelial cells, mononuclear THP-1 cells, microglia, glial cells, astrocytes, cortical neurons, etc. The selected in vivo models included cerebral ischemia embolism model, cerebral ischemia electrocoagulation model, cerebral ischemia oxygen-glucose deprivation model, Parkinson's syndrome model, Alzheimer's disease model, diabetes model, asthma model, acute pancreatitis model, acute pneumonia model, myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury model, etc. In order to help accelerate the research progress of related projects, Creative Proteomics uses the UHPLC-Q-Exactive MS technology platform to provide catalpol metabolite detection in urine, plasma and feces samples, and realize qualitative and quantitative analysis services for catalpol. We obtained data based on high-resolution extracted ion chromatography (HREICs) and parallel reaction monitoring mode (PRM) by diagnostic product ions (DPIs), chromatographic retention times, neutral loss fragments (NLFs), and accurate mass measurements. The obtained data are compared with catalpol standards to identify catalpol metabolites.
