Valepotriate Analysis Service

Online Inquiry

Valepotriate is a compound extracted from Valerian, the basic structure of which is cyclic enol ether terpene ester.

Total cyclic enol ether terpenes in Valerian have cytotoxic and tumor suppressive effects, and cyclic enol ether terpene esters can also enhance the immune function of the body. Valepotriate has inhibitory effects on Kreb II ascites cancer cells, liver cancer cells, bone marrow hematopoietic progenitor cells and human T2 lymphocytes. Valepotriate also induces apoptosis in human hypodifferentiated gastric cancer cells.

Valepotriate has the effects of dilating biliary smooth muscle, promoting bile excretion, treating gallbladder stones, relaxing gastrointestinal smooth muscle and dilating coronary arteries and small spiral arteries of uterus. Studies have shown that valepotriates can relieve colonic smooth muscle spasm caused by irritable bowel syndrome, and its mechanism of action may be related to γ-aminobutyric acid type B receptor-mediated regulation.

Valepotriates have been of great interest in natural products. Natural products play an important role in the discovery and development of new chemical entities such as drug lead compounds. Effective isolation and purification of biologically active natural products and accurate detection of the desired class of compounds are important. The presence of multiple potentially interfering active or non-specific active compounds may affect the assay results.

In order to rapidly identify known compounds present in a mixture, Creative Proteomics based on UHPLC-Q-Exactive MS technology obtains data via parallel reaction monitoring (PRM) mode and compares it to standards for absolute quantification of valepotriate.
