Stearic Acid Analysis Service

Online Inquiry

Stearic acid (octadecanoic acid, C₁₈H₃₆O) is a long-chain saturated fatty acid. It consists of 18 carbon atoms and has no double bonds, and is one of the common saturated fatty acids in nature. Stearic acid has multiple effects such as inflammatory and anti-inflammatory, oxidogenic and antioxidant, with a predominantly anti-inflammatory effect in rheumatic diseases.

Stearic acid is used in the rubber industry, chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, etc. It is widely used in cosmetics, plastic cold plasticizer, mold release agent, stabilizer, surfactant, rubber vulcanization accelerator, water repellent, polishing agent, metal soap, metal mineral flotation agent, softening agent, pharmaceuticals and other organic chemicals.

Stearic acid is used in skin care products as an emulsifier to make a stable, white paste. Stearic acid is also the main raw material for the manufacture of almond nectar and milk liquor. In addition, it is also used as a solvent for oil-soluble pigments, as a slip agent for crayons, as a polishing agent for wax paper, and as an emulsifier for stearic acid glycerides. The product is used in food industry as lubricant, defoamer and raw material of food additive glycerol stearate, sorbitan stearate, sucrose ester and so on. In addition, it is also the raw material of auxiliaries and daily-use chemical products.

Creative Proteomics has established a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) detection platform for the qualitative and quantitative determination of stearic acid. In addition, we offer other fatty acid assays to meet your different needs.
